Do you know which is the most common religious symbol in the world!?
It is used by most religions and even part of one of the most famous statues in the world!
Before you start to think let me tell you that it is the HALO!
Not the classic X box game which is also really good but the actual Halo is the most common religious symbol according to Dan Brown!
In the novel it has been mentioned that Halos are entirely misunderstood and been imagined as radiant streams of light encircling the head and depicting energy flowing out of an enlightened mind. But apparently we are interpreting halos in reverse!
According to the author, those rays represent beams of consciousness flowing in and not out. To say someone has an ‘enlightened mind’ is simply another way of saying they have a better receiver!
Even in Hinduism, the radiant circle or disk of light seen around the heads of deities is a symbol of divinity, glory, and spiritual evolution. Known by the Sanskrit names prabhamandala (or prabhavali), meaning “circle of light,” and shiras-chakra (“head-wheel”), it signifies a spiritual glow or aura!
The halo’s symbolism is seen in most religions like Christianity and can be traced to various ancient civilizations! Like in ancient Egypt the solar deity Ra was often depicted with a circular disk representing the sun above his head.
While in the ancient Iran, the Zoroastrian deity of light, Mithra, was depicted with a halo as early as 300 BC. This was connected to Khvarenah, the concept of divine glory and radiance!
The halo represents the divine light of God shining through and suffusing the soul of a holy person, distinguishing them as heavenly beings!
It can also be seen as a visual representation of a god or goddess’s divine nature, splendor, and glory. It indicates their supreme spiritual state and extraordinary power over the universe!
The prabhamandala is also an ornamental feature in temple iconography. It is often a detachable arch made of metal or carved from stone, fitted behind idols during worship. A prominent feature on this arch is the kirtimukha, a fearsome leonine head that represents divine energy.
Now of course the Halo of the statue which is world famous is the Statue of Liberty!
The Statue of Liberty’s crown is depicted with a radiant halo and seven sun rays, symbolizing enlightenment and divine status, rather than the seven seas or continents. The sculptor, Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, described the seven diverging rays as representing a halo or a nimbus, a term in art for the aura around a divine figure, demonstrating the statue’s divine and holy representation!
So you meet a mere mortal you say HELLO! While for a divine being; look out for the HALO!
One such mortal with great entertaining qualities though is director p vasu!
Now stop your hello and say a prayer to your God with Halo and sleep!
Shubh ratri!
